name of a movie...

Can you help with the name of this movie: From the 70s (possibly early 80s) about a teenage boy and his relationship with a psychiatrist/therapist. I think his brother had died, also, he might have been a swimmer? The therapist helps him overcome his emotional demons. I cannot remember much more than this but it was a great movie and I want to watch it again!
