Mifi activation without a computer?

Can I activate a Virgin Mobile Mifi 2200 using an iPad?

I'm heading to the US this weekend, and I want to give the Broadband2go prepaid service a try. The only problem is that I read with the similar Verizon Mifi 2200, you need a laptop or computer to do the initial activation. From the Virgin Mobile site, it appears that all you need is a browser, but I've read that the Safari mobile browser on the iPad doesn't work too well. I would prefer not to have to lug my laptop down with me just for the activation, since I'll be using the Mifi mostly with my iPhone and iPad. Has anyone successfully activated their Virgin Mobile Mifi 2200 with an iPad?

I have not, but if you do have problems with Safari, I believe Opera now has an app that will also work as a web browser for you. So you have browser options.

I've activated my mifi via my android phone browser.

If that doesn't work, you can find a public library and potentially use their internet access.

Best answer: I wasn't going to post this since it may not be relevant, but I activated my Virgin Mifi with my netbook that is running ubuntu, despite the fact that the literature and website both state that it doesn't work with linux. I'd say it's worth a shot.

Response by poster: Thanks everyone. I might give it a shot if I can find it at Walmart. Don't think I can use a library computer as the computer needs to connect to the wireless network created by the Mifi. My only real worry is that the activation script uses some flash or otherwise hokey javascripting that only works on non mobile browsers. If I do get it, I'll report back.
