nonaerosol spray antiperspirants?

Can anyone recommend a non-aerosol spray antiperspirant/deodorant (must be both) that can be obtained in the US?

Many years ago, I used to use a nonaerosol spray antiperspirant made by Ban. They stopped making it, so I switched to one made by Pinaud. They, too, have stopped making the product. I really hate sticks, and I don't like the aerosol sprays either.

My criteria: must be non-aerosol, must be a spray (think pump spray, if you're having trouble visualizing), and must include an antiperspirant. Optional addition: a (masculine, please) deodorant. Thanks!

Hope this helps, as it doesn't directly answer your question:

Do you hate sticks because of the goopy or flaky residue they leave on your skin, which gets transferred to your clothes? Me too. I used Brut aerosol AP+D for years. I bought a "stick" deodorant on a whim once when I was broke and it was on sale. Turns out I love it. It's Mitchum Cool Dry (this is the important part) Hydro Solid. They also have a regular solid and a gel. The Hydro Solid is a sort of merge of the two. It looks more like a solid, but is wetter. But it's not goopy like a gel. It's an anti-perspirant and a deodorant. I use the unscented and don't get smelly, so I'd say it has an actual de-odorant, not just smelly stuff to cover stink. (Although I doubt their sogan "So Effective You Could Skip A Day(TM)".) I have been using it for over a year now, and no residue - on me or on my clothes. The only issue I have had is keeping it on hand. Stores in my area are spotty about restocking their supply - when I find some, I'm likely to buy up to 10 and store them in ziploc baggies. I once ran completely out and had to use an alternative for a while - the best plain stick I've tried, but it still left so much residue on my undershirts that it ruined several - it won't wash out. I don't know what I am going to do when they inevitably quit making it - maybe I'll just quit using anything, and move to Europe.

I just started using Burt's Bees and like it quite a lot. And so does my girlfriend. A bit pricey, though.

You could make your own!

This Clubman Supreme says it's both deodorant and anti-perspirant, but the bottle says it's only deodorant. Or is that the one you use now? If so, why not just buy a bunch online and stash them away?

Best answer: I swear this is my last post here, but here is a LaCross non-aerosol pump. It looks like it's both deodorant and anti-perspirant. Order 10! Odaban is used by people with hyperhidrosis, and they have a pump spray as well. I think you put it on at night though, and wash it off: it does work, but not really a deodorant. You can order Odaban online.

King of Shaves K-Series Pro-Deo Natural Deodorant worked for me. Worth a try, although I am not sure how much of an anti-persperant it is, I certainly didn't notice myself being a sweaty minger when I was using it.

Response by poster: Thanks for all the suggestions:

1) Sticks are right out.

2) Fionab, that's the crux of the problem. The original Clubman called itself an antiperspirant (though they misspelled it "ANITPERSPIRANT" on the front label). The new bottles have gotten rid of that label and now just say "deodorant". Calls to AII have resulted in no help whatsoever, though a comparison of the ingredients shows them to be identical. They both include water, fragance, and zinc phenolsulphate, which appears to be a deodorant (anti-microbial) as opposed to an antiperspirant, so maybe the old stuff isn't really an antiperspirant either.

3) No desire to make my own, but thanks :)
4) The LaCross looks closest to what I want.
5) The King of Shaves and Burts Bees products are not antiperspirants, unfortunately.

Thanks, especially to fionab.

There was something I used as a sweaty teen that worked great, but they quit making it. Now I use Mitchum's roll-on and no matter how nervous I get, it seems to do the job.

I have some of This at home. It's made on Florida, so I figure you should be able to *BUY* it in the USA (as well as Canada, where I am). :-D

on Florida? Man, I should start spelling it Floreda while I'm at it too...

Response by poster: Shepd, it looks like that's deodorant-only (no antiperspirant). One of the requirements is an antiperspirant agent.

aberrant, it definitely contains alum, which is a natural antiperspirant. Not necessarially as strong as a "real" stick deodorant would be, though.

Since it has no "smell" (except of salt) it probably *lacks* a deodorant component. Bad idea for use as a coverup measure... :-)
