Help my mother recognize this mysterious wooden object
This mysterious wooden object was manufactured by Puukiska OY here in Finland which was closed in 1951 so this dates to before that. It measures 24.5cm by 15cm and there are no moving parts.

Given that it's 9.5 inches across, it doesn't seem like it could be a bottle rack.
Unless the bottles are teeny tiny.

For some reason I want it to be used for sewing. Is it for stowing embroidery thread or spools? A loom of some kind? Part of some kind of display frame?
What other kinds of things did Puukiska OY make?

Response by poster: Puukiska apparently made a great variety of wooden objects including but not limited to radio cases, filing cabinets and musical instruments.

Drying pasta is the first thing that came to my mind, but the specs fit a lot of possibilities.

Two things that I wondered about: maybe a holder for rolled-up papers (like newsletters or menus), or, when oriented parallel with the floor, possibly for dangling candle wicks as they are dipped in warm wax?
