I need an English-speaking genealogist in Austria with experience searching Austro-Hungarian military records. I haven't had much luck using search engines. Any suggestions?

I know an English-speaking tour guide who also offers genealogy research services in Budapest, Hungary: http://www.rinettguide.com (Zoltan Horvath)

I'm located in Vienna, Austria, but am not a genealogist. It might be worth contacting Zoltan to see if he can help you out. I could, theoretically, try to drum up any Austrian records you or Zoltan needed, if Zoltan's unable to find them in Hungary.

If you haven't try getting in touch with the Austrian Embassy or consulate or possibly even the German Embassy or consulate.

There are services that specialize in finding people, there are still people who are lost after the wars.

I spent years trying to track down some people in Poland and eventually found someone from the Polish embassy who found the required information in weeks.

Web searches were useless in finding people finders.
