Does Groucho Marx appear in the movie The Candidate (1972)?

This is repeated as fact all over the internet, including the IMDb. But I just watched this movie, and he was nowhere to be seen, as far as I could tell. Did anyone ever spot him there?

That one looks more like Groucho to me.

Response by poster: I think that's George Meyer, "Man in Urinal". (And Michael Lerner in the back.) It's definitely not Groucho, who would've been 82 in 1972.

Amyms' link looks like Jack Benny to me.

Groucho often wore a hat in his later years, if that helps any. And he had whatever the opposite of crossed eyes is. (Walleye is probably not the right term...)

As far as I'm aware, the last film Groucho was in was Otto Preminger's Skidoo in '68 or '69.

Benjamin Dwight, the pollster at 1:42.

Bearded Peter Boyle! Hippie Natalie Wood! Old Melvyn Douglas! In color! I really enjoyed this movie. Even if that's not the right guy, thanks for the recommendation.

Response by poster: No way, much too waspy :^)
Groucho was unmistakable, even in his old age. We'd have known him if we saw him...

Response by poster: So for now, I'm filing this under "The whole internet got it wrong" (!)
Did Robert Redford ever mention meeting Groucho? He would have mentioned it if it happened, right?
lesli212 - you're welcome. Also, thanks tumid dahlia for that awesome pic.

I still haven't found any concrete evidence of Groucho appearing in The Candidate, but IMDB has two pictures (1, 2) of Groucho at a party for George McGovern that might give creedence to the claims that he had an uncredited walk-on, since McGovern and other famous people in those same political and social circles made cameo appearances in the movie.

Response by poster: OK, I'm convinced Groucho is nowhere to be seen in this film. Unless someone can provide a screenshot to the contrary...
