Remote Parking at O'Hare

Can you recommend a remote parking lot near O'Hare airport; at a reasonable cost and with a shuttle?

Driving in from the Northern suburbs on a Wednesday morning for an 8:20 flight and returning the following Saturday at 11 PM.

The price of actually parking at the airport is way too much so I'm willing to sacrifice some convenience. Do I need to book a spot ahead of time? What I don't want is to drive around in circles Wednesday morning because some of the lots are full.

Best answer: I like ParkRideFly USA. They have 4 O'Hare locations to choose from, all of which offer shuttle service - plus they handle your luggage too. We used the Avistar parking lot and were very happy. You do have to book it and pay in advance, but that's one less thing to worry about on travel day. : )

I see a lot of people park at the Cumberland Blue Line stop and take the train in. Not sure what prices are, but I would assume it's much cheaper than on-site parking and the ride in is quick and easy.

I use the park & fly at the Doubletree. Inexpensive and they have a shuttle.

Best answer: We've used Avistar twice and were happy with them. Look online for coupons (you'll have to do some quick searching, though -- if I recall correctly, some deals were better than others and some deals weren't better than their normal rates). They let you "reserve" a spot beforehand (not sure if it really does anything) but you don't have to pay until you pick up your car. Shuttles were fairly frequent -- didn't have any worries about missing flights.
