Kayaking coastal Georgia

Coastal Georgia - kayaking and camping. Does anyone have any experience? I'm looking for suggested paddle routes, campsites, etc.

I have a long weekend coming up, and will be driving from Atlanta to explore the coast of Georgia in my kayak. I'm looking for remote campsites - primitive only (no family campgrounds). Camping on the beach would be great. I'm considering parking at Crooked River State Park, and paddling to Cumberland Island to camp, but would like to hear about any other experiences & travel tips! Thanks!

Sapelo Island is an absolute treasure. There are feral cattle on the island and it is mostly car-free.

Upon a bit of googling, I'm not sure if you can camp there, but there is a pretty rustic b and b (mostly trailers). If anything, it's worth a day trip to explore.

Cumberland Island is beautiful and remote. There are no cars aside from a couple NPS vehicles, and there are historical ruins, awesome beaches, and descendants of feral horses.

Best answer: Call up the guys at Sea Kayak, out near Tybee Island, Savannah. They should be able to point you in some good directions/info/advice.
