Changes in Police Hiring Practices

I am trying to find changes in the hiring policies of Police, especially changes in policies that allowed more women to enter the police force. For instance, I know there have been gender discrimination suits that have forced police forces to change height requirements and similar potentially discriminatory measures.

You might be best off asking an organisation such as: http://www.womenandpolicing.org/. They published a 2003 article [PDF]: Hiring & Retaining More Women: The Advantages to Law Enforcement Agencies. That may or may not be of direct use to you, but it might give some leads about where else you can ask for info.

I tend to think that when the info required is esoteric and specific, that seeking out the right people or organisations to ask (versus devising search engine terms for example) is the better target.
