Japanese girl travels country with griddle TV show?

Once upon a time I saw a few episodes of a japanese TV show about a girl who runs an okonomiyaki restaurant (I think?) in Japan who travels the country with her cast-iron griddle looking for her father. Every episode ends with her in a cook-off against some random person. It was on TV in the Bay Area and subtitled. What the heck was this show? It has defeated even my powerful google-fu.

It's probably not Ukyo Kuonji from Ranma 1/2, but I'd be remiss not to mention her.

Response by poster: It was a live-action soap-opera-esque drama.

Best answer: Was it Teppan Shoujo Akane?

Response by poster: Yes! because it's teppanyaki and not okonomiyaki. And I didn't know what the heck to call the teppanyaki grill.

Anyway, I should say I'm pretty sure that's it because it's unlikely there would be two shows like that.

I'm in the Bay Area and I can confirm that Teppan Shoujo Akana was shown on KTSF. :)

Oops, Akane. It is available as a torrent (raw with a separate soft-subtitle download) at d-addicts (the main site, not the wiki).
