Football Manager 2011 is causing me to need a valium

I recently downloaded Football Manager 2011 from Amazon.com and my saved games are often corrupted and lost causing me to get extremely frustrated. What can I do to prevent this from happening in the future? Also, why is the software so buggy? I have never had seven saved games become corrupted in any game I've had previously.

Response by poster: Computer is two years old, but more importantly, how do I check that?

The FM series are famously buggy when they are newly released. I would recommend installing the latest patch visiting the forums at SI games.

i'm not sure about the structure of files in that specific game, but here at our house we play a lot of old games that end up being pretty buggy so we make backups of saves constantly. copy the save files to a new location every couple of days so if something gets corrupted, you won't lose a lot of work.
