How to get Contacts into iPod Touch

How to import my Contacts from Palm Desktop ver. 4.1.4 to my iPod Touch ver. 4.2.1? I have looked at Apple Support , and PdbConverter without success. and the AskMefi 91 posts tagged with ipodtouch. I have Win XP SP3 and iTunes 10.

It's been a couple of years, but I believe I exported my Palm contacts in a format that I could open with MS Outlook. From Outlook I exported to a spreadsheet, which I cleaned up manually before importing it into Gmail contacts, which I finally synced with my iPod. Seems like there must be a more direct route, but I didn't find it.

Response by poster: I currently don't have Outlook installed (or Outlook Express) tho' I have Excel. I will Google for Palm to Outlook in the interim.

I remember using The Missing Sync to get my Palm T|X contacts to my Thinkpad - I assume I went via Outlook as well (sorry, this was years ago).
