Looking for title of western with scene of young girl with hot branding iron.

I saw it in a theatre in the late 50's or more likely early 60's. A young girl watched cows being branded and was horrified. She went to her dad and he told her that it didn't hurt them. She found a branding iron and was going to brand herself. Her father saw her just in time, stopped her, and agreed not to brand the cattle. Not the typical western of the time.

Best answer: Is this question about the same movie (Snowfire)? It's a horse, not cows, but the incident sounds similar.
