How to get atttention for webpage?

What is an honest and legitimate way to encourage people to check out a webpage?
I'm trying to encourage people to listen to a song I've submitted for a contest. However, I don't want to go to a bunch of message boards and just write "Listen to this!" or whatever.
A while ago, Garageband was a website where you could listen to someone else's song and give a detailed critique. I was pretty good at that (based on feedback) and was one of their top reviewers. People were grateful for the tips I gave for their songs. Maybe something like that still exists and so when I give feedback they can see who I am and check out my link if it's part of my profile page?
I'd be open to other ideas, but the main idea is me doing something personal/useful or meaningful for someone and in turn they might consider checking out my song. Any ideas? It doesn't have to be music related, but that could make it easier/more productive that way. Ideally, it would involve a website where I do a certain task for someone, and then do a similar one for the next person, etc. However, I'm willing to consider real world types of actions as well.
Thanks.

In the music boards I frequent I think people are pretty much ok with this, as long as it is the right part of the forum, and perhaps also as long as you have some presence on the forum aside from that. You do have to be prepared for critiques to be all over the map and sometimes quite harsh. Kids these days also seem to use soundcloud for this kind of thing, though I don't know much about how it works myself.
Also, mefi music??

OK, is the idea that people critique the song so you can improve it for the contest, or is the point of the contest how many people listen to it? The answers we give will differ.

Response by poster: The song can't be changed for the contest. It's already submitted. So I'm looking for people to listen to it.

You could change the website listed in your profile here to a page about the song and the contest instead of the current link, which goes to your blog.
