How to get Word to stop adding programmed text to each new document?

How do I get Word to stop automatically adding the same bit of text each time I create a new document?

Every time I create a new document, it comes with a heading I wrote in a document several months ago, which I then have to erase each time to get a blank document. I'm not sure how I managed to program Word to do this, and I've also been unable to figure out how to undo it. Any ideas?

I'm on a Mac if it makes a difference.

You've got yourself a modified or custom template. This might help restore things:

Response by poster: Thanks, dudes! Never thought creating a new, BLANK, document would make me so elated. It's a sight for sore eyes :)

I'm almost sure just deleting normal.dot will force Word to create a brand new, factory fresh one.
