Howick to Auckland City, New Zealand: Can we rely on public transport?
My partner and I are moving to Auckland from Wellington in February. I'll be doing my MA through AU and wouldn't need to get to the city every day. Her situation might be different, as she is awaiting confirmation of being accepted to an AUT programme that will require her to head into the city on pretty much a regular basis.
We do intend on getting a car, but would like to use it as little as possible. Can anyone in the area (or who have lived there previously) give us an idea of a) what the bus fare is into town, b) how long it takes from Howick (or Botany, Pakuranga) and 3) how dependable the bus service is?
