Parody songs about New Jersey

Am I just imagining? Two joke songs about New Jersey.

I'm thinking maybe they were on SNL?

1. "Jersey State of Mind" with the tune from Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind"... with the lyrical fragment "I'm gonna head on down to (somewhere) that's where petroleum's refined / I'm in a Jersey state of mind"

2. "In Jersey" based on Stevie Wonder's "On Broadway"

Where? When? Links? Is this false memory syndrome? (If so could somebody create these two songs stat kthx)

I can't answer your question, but you owe it to yourself to check out Chunky Pam's Dirrrty Jerzy.

Actually, scratch that. (I was thinking the Jay-Z thing.) Yeah, SNL. Zack Braff.

Best answer: From the Wikipedia page on Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind":

"In an episode of Saturday Night Live, Zach Braff changed the lyrics to be about New Jersey."

Best answer: The Zach Braff monologue is available on Hulu.

Best answer: Actually, just re-watching that Hulu clip now. The Zach Braff monologue takes care of both your points. The "In Jersey" part is about 2:55 in.

There was a Bloodhound Gang CD in the late 90s that included a track titled "The Ten Coolest Things About New Jersey"; it was ten seconds of silence.

(I'm not proud that I remember this)

"Jason Jones' Bayonne", the Daily Show Parody of "Sarah Palin's Alaska", might amuse you too if you haven't seen it.

Response by poster: What a drag the vid is only available in the States. If anyone has alternative sources 'd love it.

Irritatingly, I can't link to this at work because the site is blocked, but if you Google "WFMU Jersey songs" you will get a great list of parody and novelty songs about New Jersey. WFMU has people who collect this kind of thing - and there are some real gems there.

Wow, I can't believe Uncle Floyd's Deep in the Heart of Jersey didn't make that list.
