You've got floaters in my Fluid

I love Fluid and SSBs, but I can't stand this floating location search problem.

Nearly every time I type directly into the location bar in a Fluid SSB, it not only supplies the search box beneath the location bar, but also another, floating one. And that second search box sticks around, floating on top of every window until I get rid of it, which can rarely be done with more typing in the location bar, usually by quitting that particular SSB.

Sometimes this happens when I'm performing a text search on the page (which is what the screenshot is showing), and sometimes it even happens when I'm typing in a form text input, including a password input.

Please help me, MeFi. I can't find anything about this problem on the internet, and I think I may be crazy. But screenshots don't lie, do they?

Best answer: Have you tried using a more recent build of Fluidium, the open source version of Fluid? The latest version of Fluid is from March 2009, but Fluidium has definitely seen updates since then. You could also try contacting the developer directly.

Response by poster: I'd heard some about others taking up the Fluid mantle, but never paid it any mind.

Fluidium is looking good, but for some reason the SSBs I've replaced so far start up with two tabs instead of just one. The investigation continues.
