Where can I find a community of video makers?

Where can I find a community of amateur video makers who might be interested in doing a music video for my band?

I'm looking for someone to do some videos for some new songs I've recorded. The videos can be well done slideshows or flash videos or anything else that works and somewhat fits the theme of the song.
I've looked on deviantart and a couple other places and haven't quite found what I'm looking for. Just wondering if anyone knew of a place.

Do you mean pro-bono or for pay?

Response by poster: Initially pro-bono - but as more of a cross-promotion sort of deal where they get more audience for their work and I get more audience for mine.

Mod note: Link removed. Fine to ask for leads, not so okay to use the post as an ad for the band in the process. Feel free to stick a link in your profile if you like.

You don't say where you are, but you could advertise on Shooting People. You might find enthusiastic amateurs or professionals who don't have enough work who would take it on.

Hm. This doesn't sound like a very fair deal.

Reminds me of "Money? You don't need money! If you design my website, I'll put a LINK to you on it! How's that?"

My career in film/video got started by doing pro-bono rock-video work. Speaking from that experience, my advice to you is to be very specific about whatever deal you may have with your eventual video partner(s), because as soon as things go pro-bono all manner of unfortunate assumptions tend to get made (ie: who owns the master video? what happens if the song/record/band takes off? will the vid-maker be working for free or on deferral? etc).

Response by poster: The shooting people website seems like a good site. I wish I could afford to pay someone but I can't. Thanks for the input.

You might be able to find someone willing on Vimeo. There are lots of talented amateurs there who might be looking for a challenge.
