Help identify an educational computer game from the nineties involving cartoon aliens, racing, skateboards, and science trivia.

A friend of mine is trying to identify a computer game, and the local hive mind has struck out. I offered to ask the internet, so here is what she says:

I'm trying to remember the name of a PC game I used to play in the 90s. It was an educational science racing game with cartoon graphics. When you started the game you got to choose between two characters...either a male or female alien. I remember on the opening screen the two characters were both begging you "Pick Me! Pick Me!", I remember if you chose the girl alien she would blow a raspberry at the boy alien.

Once the game started there was a screen showing a map with a course of the race plotted out with different numbered stopping points. When you reached each numbered point on the map you entered that location and had to answer science questions. Locations ranged from spots like a beach, under the sea, a mad scientist laboratory, race track.

As you answered questions you earned points and after answering the required amount of questions at each stopping point you used your points to buy different modes of transportation to the next spot. Different modes of transportation ranged from a skateboard, car, jet pack etc. And of course buying the faster mode of transportation moved you faster through the race to beat your opponent.

Santa is considering getting MeFi accounts for xmas, yes.

Best answer: Was it Quarky & Quaysoo's Turbo Science? It was released in 1992 by Sierra and matches the description. Here are some more screenshots and here's the game's page on Wikipedia.

Best answer: If Quarky is the right game, good news for your friend - it's abandonware. (The 'Get It!' graphic is the download link.)

Response by poster: You nailed it. Through the power of abandonware and dosbox she is playing it right now. Thank you, MeFi!
