Dance advice in PDX

Hello, this is my first question! I have a super cool friend visiting me from the east coast. We used to go dancing back in the day and would like to go out this weekend. We are looking for recommendations for a nice place to go dance in Portland, Oregon. We are hip chicks in our early 40's, and we used to dance our booties off to house music in NYC but are now sadly out of touch. Last year we danced at Halocene, which was pretty fun, but we are wondering if anyone has a favorite place to go get sweaty.

Ok, well I haven't lived in PDX for a while but it looks like The Stranger is still the place to look.

The Stranger is Seattle's alt paper. The Mercury is what you're thinking of. I'm not a club dancer by any means, and by that, I mean: not at all. But I know people who are and Holoscene would be the first place that came to mind. Doug Fir depending on their event schedule. Embers for a twist of GBLTQ.

The Goodfoot (SE 28th and Stark) is a pretty good bet on most nights!

Is it over? I would absolutely suggest the Goodfoot, by far my favorite dancing place. You might also like Friday night's at Lola's Room (inside the Crystal Ballroom), when the place is packed for 80's night. Drink prices, however, are insane.
