Adding lining to wool dress pants

I’m thinking about buying a suit where the jacket and skirt are lined, but the pants are not. Is it possible to have a tailor add the lining?

I prefer lined pants, but really like the other aspects of the suit (ex: color, fabric, cut, and fit) This seems like it would be a large alteration, has anyone had it done?

Yes. This is a common alteration.

Yes, but it will be pretty pricey. I had a pair of dress pants relined recently and it was close to $90.

You could settle for just the top portion of the pants to be lined for much less, unless you like that lined feeling all the way down to your ankles.

Why not simply add a pant liner?
