Seeking scifi short story about 3D printing

I am trying to find a short science fiction story I read sometime in the last five years. It was about 3-D printing and/or self-replicating machines.

I dimly remember it's about some rogue loner who is disseminating the plans for 3-D printers, or the plans for patented objects, in defiance of the IP holders. There may be IP thugs who come after him.

May or may not be Sterling, Stross, Doctorow, or the other MeFi regulars.

This sounds like a story from Cory's "A Place So Foreign" short story collection. I think.

Best answer: aime is right. I was wrong about the book tho, - it's from "Overclocked".

Sounds like it isn't it, but Kiosk by Bruce Sterling is extremely similar.

Ack, for the first time I have the answer to one of these questions, and I'm too late.
