Magic Flight Launch Box? Or a different vaporizer?

Should I get the Magic Flight Launch Box? Or a different herbal vaporizer?

I used to have a stone-based herbal vaporizer but I didn't enjoy it. Too often, I ended up with a mouthful of hot smoke. So I want a good electronic one.

I've been looking at the MFLB (I know it is not "electronic" per se, but it takes care of the smoke problem) and for a piece with a FAQ as long as my arm, it seems to be what I'm looking for. It's not too complex, it has a lifetime warranty, good reviews, etc. But is it what I really want? I guess what I'm asking is: what problems have you had with the piece? Anything I should know? I've read all the forums (combustionsucks, etc.) and the Wiki and I want the opinion of this community.

If you have a better suggestions, I'd like to hear them too. Price (so long as it is worth the money,) taste and portability are not big issues for me. Ease of use and quality of make are. I've seen the Volcano, but I feel like it would be overkill. Feel free to prove me wrong, though. As long as it doesn't involve fire, I'm open to it.

I was going to buy one recently, but also didn't wanna fork out the dough on a Volcano. I didn't end up purchasing a vaporizer for the sole reason I found out it wouldn't work with sticky hash. Anyway, when I was doing my research, I talked to a bunch of buddies in Northern California and they all swear by the Vaporbrothers hands-free unit. It can be purchased here for $165 and free shipping if you're in the U.S.

I have a Vaporbrothers (standard unit) and couldn't recommend it enough. Takes a couple times to figure out the right temperature - but once you have it (and mark it on the knob for future reference), it does the charm every time.

Whatever you get - one you can adjust the temperature on seems like it would be an absolute requirement - different herbs might have different ideal temperatures. It sounds like the problem with your stone-based one was it was too hot for your herbs.

I too love the Vaporbrothers. I got a quasi-knockoff version with a programmable electronic thermostat, and it's nice to just be able to set it to my ideal temperature, walk away, and let it get up to speed while I, y'know, program my soundtrack or something. Super-handy.

I've tried a portable ones and the volcano. The portables I've tried are decent, but the build quality is questionable. I don't see the point to portable vaporizers as the majority of the time I use in the home or outside. Nothing, and I mean nothing is quite like a Volcano. Is it overkill? Yes, but if I was in the market for one that's what I'd get. Hell, I'd try to see if someone is selling one used, either craigslist or forum boards that trade with users.

I have owned several Vaporbrothers setups, and they are most certainly quality vaporizers, but those devices provides a qualitatively different experience than the raw cannabinoid efficiency that is life on the Volcano tip. The latter is considerably more conservative with respect to your herbal medley and tastes much better (though I guess that's not super important to you).

Also, I've seen at least five Vaporbros. rigs come and go either at my place or a frequent herbal discourse locale. They aren't especially prone to breakage, but they do seem to have a tendency to crap out after 2 or 3 years. The only Volcano with which I'm truly familiar has been kickin' for four years and still goin' strong. After a cross-country flight, it needed to be opened up and tweaked a little, but that trip falls well outside the realm of ordinary use, and fixing it was really a cinch.

The factor that sets them apart the most in my mind, however, is the precision with which you can titrate your aromatherapy using a Volcano. No matter how familiar you get with a particular Vaporbros. device, you can never really get the same degree of control insofaras modulating the consistency of the vapor, the optimal way to load it up, how to adjust the temperature and distribution for various strains of flora, and how large your receptacle is.

I did not purchase the Volcano that I am in possession of, and the four bucks an hour they pay me don't really stretch so far that I could even consider making a purchase of that magnitude at this point in my life, but if I was waitin' tables instead of weightin' brain scans, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

Vaporbros. make a fine vaporizer, and in some ways the unpredictability and requisite fiddling with the load, coupled with a clean aesthetic and a nice glass whip create sort of a gestalt that seems more in line with the sentimental, ritual aspects of the intended activity.

With a Volcano, there is really no question that what you are doing is converting plant matter into gas which is then collected in an awkward looking cellophane bag. Nevertheless, if ease of use and quality of make are your priorities, it's really no question in my mind.

I have MFLB and I enjoy it quite a lot. It's the easiest thing in the world to use, and comes with rechargeable batteries and charger. It's literally as simple as sticking a battery in a hole and breathing. It's also really really small and fits entirely in the palm of my hand (I don't have particularly large hands), and thus is really discreet too.

It's also helps save herbs. Their website says it'll make your stuff last 2-3 times as long, and that's certainly an accurate assesment. .2 grams can last me at least 6 hours.

Quality-wise, it feels quite sturdy. It's made of wood, with a thick plastic lid, and looks pretty cool too. This is the only vaporizer I have ever bought but I certainly don't regret it.

MFLB is great. Everything else went into the trash.
