Seeking a computer timer/reminder

Seeking simple, downloadable timer/reminder for desktop computer -- details within.

This should be easy, but for some reason I'm having a hard time finding it. Basically, what I want is something I can have on my computer at work that will flash some kind of alert once an hour, or at other regular intervals, so that I get snapped out of my fixated-on-monitor trance state and am reminded to get up and move around.

Criteria:
--Must have a visual signal of some kind, instead of/in addition to sound (I don't have speakers on my work computer);
--I want to be able to set it to repeat at regular intervals, whenever the computer is on, rather than having to re-set it each time it goes off;
--Free is ideal, but I'll pay a small amount.

All suggestions welcome--thanks!

I use a programmable addon to Firefox to remind me to clock out for lunch. It throws both a popup alert and a message above the toolbar.

Simple Timer

Kinda requires you to 1) Use Firefox and 2) Have Firefox Open all the time

Don't know if you're using a Mac or not, but I've found the program Alarm Clock to be quite useful. Multiple alarms, pop-up windows, the works.

Do you have Vista or Windows 7? There are some desktop widgets that might fit the bill.

There's also using good old Outlook reminders, if you have Outlook.

Best answer: Workrave

Visual signal - yes.
Repeat at regular intervals without reset - yes.
Free - yes.

I have dual monitors at work and have used Online Stopwatch. I choose the bomb option. It expoldes after a set amount of time. I don't know if this is really what you want but I've used it.
