Name this film.

Name this film: for some reason why -- I can't remember -- the main character -- who I think works in a bank -- realises that there is a lot of money -- penny and cents -- in dormant accounts and sets about retrieving them and collecting them together I think for a charitable cause but it could be something more nefarious. Any ideas?

Best answer: This may not be what you're looking for, but in Office Space the main characters band together with the intent to take the fractions of a cent left over from all the many transactions they handle and put it in a bank account to get rich.

There's a couple of other examples in the Wikipedia article on salami slicing.

Sounds like exactly the plot of the (IMHO) rather good film How To Rob a Bank

This is similar to one of the plot points in Entrapment as well, if I remember correctly.

Isn't that what they do in the movie Hackers also?

They just talk about it in Hackers.

This is also a real-life case which is often mentioned in computer ethics classes... that might be where some of these movies got the idea.
