How can I play a short movie file as a continuous loop on an iPhone 3G and an iPod Touch?

How can I get a video loop to play continuously on an iPhone 3GS and an iPod Touch? They don't need to be in synch.

Ideally, the phone would also play a music track. All I can come up with is importing the video (recorded on an iPhone 4) into iMovie and copying and pasting it until I have a sufficiently long movie, then playing that.

The concept here is that I want to set up the two devices showing a loop of human eyes looking around and blinking (one eye per device) and insert them inside a carved pumpkin so the video shows through the carved eye-holes, and it appears that the eyes are the pumpkin's eyes. Did that make sense? Looping would be better than uploading long pre-looped movies, I think.

If you can suggest something which will get this to work, please feel free to steal this idea. I need it for tomorrow's work event, and I do hope no one I work with reads AskMe.

Best answer: Create an on-the-go playlist with the video in question and set it to repeat. Note that you have to create the playlist on the device, not in iTunes.

I checked it out myself and it works. I guess they aren't called 'on the go' playlists anymore, just playlists, but it works fine. You make the playlist, add your video, start playing it, then tap the loop icon (it may need to be in portrait orientation to show the loop & shuffle icons).
