Awesome Halloweeen Songs???

What are some awesome songs to put on a Halloween party playlist?

I would ideally like a mix of "topical" mainstream songs (i.e. "Witchy Woman" by the Eagles), Halloween songs (i.e. "Monster Mash"), some combination of the two (i.e. Panic at the Disco's remake of "This Is Halloween" for the re-release of the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack), and spooky sounds (tracks of just scary noises - screaming, ghost noises, whatever, etc. OR just sort of eerie tracks such as Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill".)

A couple other songs from the playlist so far, just for reference: "The Killing Moon" by Echo and the Bunnymen, "Haunted When the Minutes Drag" by Love and Rockets, and "Shankill Butchers" by the Decemberists.

Harajuku's (Techno) Phantom of the Opera

Cry Little Sister from the movie _The Lost Boys_ by Carfax Abbey

Demon Woman by Flight of the Concords for hilarity. Ignore the intro conversation n weird video.

Lord, just about anything by the Cramps or the Misfits.

Ghost of a Texas Ladies' Man, by Concrete Blonde.
Bloodletting (the Vampire Song), also by Concrete Blonde.

Maybe only tangentially Halloween-related, but I busted it out last year to much approval: Mind Playing Tricks On Me, by the Geto Boys.

Oh! If you can get ahold of it - Exuma's Mama Loi, Papa Loi (pronounced "Mama Lie, Papa Lie") (YouTube) This is a CREEPY-ASS AWESOME piece of music.

A spider crawled across my face
Spreading its web on the human race
Jingo, Jingo he ain't dead
He can see from the back of his head

Mama Loi, Papa Loi
I see fire in the dead man's eye

toodleydoodley - I think you mean "In the Hall of the Mountain King" - which I'm about to recommend :D

Jitterbug, if you want to mix it up with classical pieces:

Lux Aeterna by Ligeti (YouTube) (absolutely terrifying a cappella choral piece)

Night on Bald Mountain (YouTube) by Mussorgsky

Baba Yaga by Mussorgsky (YouTube) (sound quality isn't great--it's from an outdoor concert by the CSO recorded on someone's camcorder, I think)

In the Hall of the Mountain King (YouTube) by Grieg (let it play, it gets going very quickly)

Toccata and Fugue in D Minor (YouTube) by Bach

Requiem Mass in D Minor (YouTube) by Mozart (again, let it get going)

If you want something that's Halloween-y without being (yet again) the Monster Mash you should check out Eban Schletter's Witching Hour.

If you play The Monster Mash, make it the cover by the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band rather than the original.

It's instrumental, but Ghastly Stomp by The Ghastly Ones is a great surf-rock rendition of the organ music that plays in the Haunted Mansion lobby.

Straight from themed mixes my husband and I have made in the past:

Ladytron - "Evil"
Goblin - "Suspiria", "Sighs", "L'alba dei Morti Viventi"
Liars - "Broken Witch"
David Bowie - "Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)"
Shaggs - "It's Halloween"
Slint - "Nosferatu Man"
Mogwai - "Kids Will Be Skeletons"
Helium - "Wanna Be a Vampire Too, Baby", "Lucky Charm" (if you take off your skin like clothes I won't know where you've been, oh no/hold me like a lucky charm in your bony arms, bony arms...), "I'm a Witch"
Cap'n Jazz - "Scary Kids Scaring Kids"
John Carpenter and Alan Howarth - anything from the Halloween III soundtrack like "Chariots of Pumpkins", "Halloween Montage" (goofy), or "Stonehenge" (haha) would be my personal preference; what a great record.
Two Dollar Guitar - "Let's Play Ghost"
Cramps - "What's Behind the Mask"
Dusty Springfield - "Spooky"
Morrissey - "Jack the Ripper" (I prefer his solo version to the Smiths one)
Alien Sex Fiend - "Now I'm Feeling Zombiefied"
Bauhaus - "Bela Lugosi's Dead"
Skinny Puppy - "Monster Radio Man"
Throbbing Gristle - "Subhuman"
Devo - "I'm a Potato"
Siouxsie and the Banshees - "Halloween"
Bad Brains - "Fearless Vampire Killers"
Scientist - "Night of the Living Dead"
Dead Kennedys - "Halloween"
MX-80 - "Theme from Halloween"
Cure - "The Funeral Party"
Sonic Youth - "Hallowe'en"
"I'm a Mummy" (either the original Rod McKuen/DOR thing or the goofy Fall cover)

Tons of Misfits/Danzig/Samhain songs fit the bill if you can stomach them, of course (I'll admit Static Age is really pretty good, granted). Ditto Christian Death. And if you can find it somehow, "Werewolf Bah Mitzvah" from 30 Rock would be awesome of course. And maybe the "Treehouse of Horror"-tinged Simpsons theme song...

Oh, and not directly themed, but Suicide gets mentioned a lot whenever the top of disturbing or creepy songs comes up. The infamous choice is "Frankie Teardrop" of course.

The Toadies have some spectacularly creepy songs, not so much about monsters and Halloween, but about serial killers and stalkers and such.
