Musical Bands on TV

Help me compile a list of television shows (or miniseries) whose main characters are all in the same rock band. Difficulty: no reality TV, documentaries, or kiddie/teen bands.
I can think of "Flight of the Conchords" but otherwise am drawing a blank. Please note I'm NOT looking for TV shows that feature a teen protagonist (like Hannah Montana) but rather adults in their 20's and up.
Also, I'm really looking for shows where the bulk of the story is about the exploits of the band, not a show that happens to have some characters who occasionally appear in a band together (such as Drive Shaft on "Lost.")
Many thanks!

Best answer: The Monkees.

This is a hard one. I guess the Zit Remedy and Wyld Stallyns (remember there was an animated series of Bill and Ted) are out on account of age. Treme doesn't count because they're mostly jazz musicians in different groups. How old were the Monkees?

Response by poster: I totally forgot about the Monkees!
And no animated shows, thanks though 23skidoo.

It was a made-for-TV movie, but I remember it fondly: Cotton Candy

Best answer: Oh, and still on an old Brit TV kick... Tutti Frutti. Much better than bloody Rock Follies.

List of fictional music groups seems very helpful here, though it covers all kinds of fiction, not just tv.

Best answer: Catwalk! It was made in Canada but eventually got syndicated and used to play in the afternoons, and I got totally addicted to it. Much later, I ended up becoming friends with the guy who played the lead singer.

Josie and the Pussycats
And Chris Isaak is probably never coming out on DVD, due to music licensing rights.

It's a shame kids are out, because Naked Brothers Band is an adorable show.

Ugh, I keep thinking of scenes and then realizing they are from Scott Pilgrim.

The Hudson brothers had their own show in the 70s, I believe.
