Has anyone used Klear Action or a similar product to whiten their teeth?

I know there was a post about tooth whiteners here over a year ago, but this type of whitener is a new product, and the ones I'm specifically interested in - the ones that include a whitening light.

Response by poster: Yeah, but it has nothing at all to do with tooth whiteners that include a whitening light. I'm pretty sure this is a relatively new (like a month or so old) thing, being able to purchase the kits with the lights.

Response by poster: No worries. I think I've figured out though, that the answer to my question, "Has anyone used Klear Action of a similar product", is no. Do you get that feeling too?

Totally - and it's a bummer because I am dying to try this product. I'll let you know if I buy it!

I hope your teeth don't fall out, guinea pigs!

By the way, I don't believe for a moment that the light is anything more than a placebo. UV of the intensity used by dentists is a major health hazard (retinal burns). Ain't no way this product -- with what appears to be a battery-operated lamp, no less! -- is a bright UV light. Ten to one it's an ordinary low-voltage halogen with a blue film.

Best answer: Why don't you guys wait and see what results other people have first? In the meantime, I found this pdf on tooth whitening products from Prevention.com, and the highest rated product here, the Swab Plus system (commercial site), sounds nice and convenient (no trays, no strips), plus it's only $15 (though I have no idea how many applications this represents). If I can find this around here, I'll definitely try it out.

Response by poster: I ended up ordering the Swab Plus System that taz mentioned, and it worked *really* well, and is only $15.00 online. I ended up letting my son use it; he had pretty yellow teeth for someone so young (14). After 2 or 3 days there was a definite improvement in the color, and by the time he was done with the kit, his teeth were nice and white. The system takes 2 weeks to complete, but it's only 1 minute for upper teeth and 1 minute for lower, so the amount of time actually invested in whitening is pretty minimal. Definitely worth the time and money.

I'm ordering another kit, this time for me!

I tried the Swab Plus System, and didn't notice any difference at all. Suckage.
