Design Magazine Suggestions to Replace Communication Arts
March 23, 2005 10:53 AM   Subscribe

Designers: our marketing/communications department has had a Communication Arts subscription for a while now. The past few issues seem to have taken it into a new editorial direction. Much less inspiring stuff there. Is there some hot new contender that we should look at subscribing to instead? We'd probably only get just one.

Sorry that I don't have an answer, but I do have a question: I haven't read CA in a long time, what is this "new editorial direction" you refer to? Can you be more specific?

The new direction STEP has been taking for the last year isn't bad.

It's not an up-and-comer, but I've always enjoyed PRINT over CA.

Response by poster: jca - recently, it seems like they're much more story focused. There is a lot more text and seems to be a lot fewer examples of really great and inspiring work. With this kind of thing, I mostly just want to look at the pretty pictures.

Print has always been my favorite. They always have great annuals too.

I'm gonna play the wildcard and suggest ..., a very eclectic journal. May I also second "Eye", and of course Emigre.

Marvellous user name by the way :-)
