Help with name of '70s Comic
Can anyone help me out with the name of a 1970s (well i read it in the 70s I think), the only story I can remember is with a dead French foreign legionaires wooden hand who mysteriously crosses the desert and knock on the gates of a Fort and alerts the soldiers of a attack that is about to take place.........
I think it may have been mysterious happenings or something similar, although I cant be certain..
Any help greatly appreciated

The timeline would work if it were one of Charlton Comics' GHOSTY TALES. If you remember what the cover looked like, you may find it here
Mefi Bhob Stewart is a comic writer and was able to answer a similar enquiry for me (being one of his stories). I was blown away.

and if it's not there, I'm sure it's somewhere in the cover browser (which includes a surprisingly large array of anthology horror comics).

Sounds like something from Weird War Tales (1971-83).

Your story might be a ghostly twist on the real life Battle of Cameron:
"Thanks to the heroic stand of the Foreign Legion, the French supply convoy made it safely to Puebla. The Mexicans failed to relieve the siege and the city fell on May 17.
Today "Camerone Day" is an important day for the Legionnaires, when the wooden prosthetic hand of Capitaine Danjou is brought out for display and veneration in special ceremonies at the Legion headquarters at Aubagne, France."
