Rebranding filter: We are redefining our organizations focus, and we feel it important to recreate our corporate identify. How do we find someone to handle the creating of our logo and website? I want someone with experience, and google isn't being very helpful. I'm talking with one person in the UK (we are in the States), but I don't know if his "style" fits ours. Help!

I've been reading up on the actual things that we want (logo, website, etc...) to be able to engage in helpful conversations. I've got experience with graphic and website design, but I'm not a professional, and I know when I need help. We really want our end result to communicate who we are and our focus, so that necessities someone who really understands communication.

Any recommendations? I've talked with local places and haven't found anyone who seems competent.

We are a small organization, and I've only got about 4K for logo creation and website development. (I can handle a good portion of creating the corporate identity once I've got matching logo, font, color schemes, etc...) (and our website will be very simplistic in its usage)

Help!

there are design jobsites that you can use to advertise such projects. i use creative hotlist, krop, and coroflot a lot. additionally, my art school, art center college of design provides a listing to graduates to search for full-time as well as freelance work.

Recommendations from others is always the best way to find someone.

Your budget isn't very high, you may want to look at a student. I would go with someone local for that price, because it's too easy for someone else to give up and stop working.

The online sites offering to do work for this budget will be a piece of crap and you will have more problems down the road.

To save some money, find a Wordpress theme you like for your website that will only need to have your logo added and a few colors changed.

You can email me also. I've done re-branding work a few times before and always with very positive feedback from clients.

My focus is "strategic communications" work, and to achieve objectives, I typically start by working with the client for a period before to find out what's the core of the new message and how should those new key messages be communicated in a way best understood by the target market. In your case, asking these questions will allow us to create a logo, typeface and website that your clients will understand and want to work with.

Here are a few of my strategic communication case studies. I enjoy a challenge and helping those who need it (and of course who are smart and straight-forward enough to do things like ask on this site)... so while I wouldn't say I do websites all day and night, I have done enough graphic design and website work to know I can manage this for you... and that I'm intrigued enough to chat with you about it.

So, if you like what you read here and on my site, please send an email to the address on that site, or call the North American phone number there.
