Help me give away my iTouch.

I got the new iTouch. My wife wants the old one. How do I make this work?
Questions:
I was able to transfer all my purchases to the new iTouch, but now both iTouches show all my apps. Should I just give it to her like this? Or restore it to scratch somehow?
Does she need a separate Apple account? Can we use the same iTunes/computer if we have separate accounts?
Does she need a separate Amazon account for Kindle? It seems like a pain, but I'm guessing she'd see all my books if not. I guess we weren't meant to have one "family" account for Amazon?
Were all the iTouch apps I paid for licensed for use on more than one device? I don't understand why it let me end up with two devices and duplicate apps.
Thanks!

Response by poster: So if we share an iTunes account, can we keep our music separate somehow, or sync different music to different devices?

Response by poster: So if I have automatic syncing turned on and delete an app on one iTouch, will it be deleted on the other one too? That would suck.

Best answer: So if we share an iTunes account, can we keep our music separate somehow, or sync different music to different devices?
You can only choose to sync various playlists. For example, make a "Circular playlist" and in the sync settings, only choose that one to upload to your ipod. My "See here" link gives step by step instructions.

I believe that kalessin is referring to syncing one ipod across multiple computers, all with the same account. It will blow the media on the ipod away, and replace it with everything on the second computer, which did not include the movie in kalessin's case.

Best answer: Each device can have its own, separate syncing settings. I have a Touch and an iPhone 3G and there's no conflict. You could automatically sync one and manually do the other, no problem. I'm not sure what would happen if you deleted the app from the auto-sync one — but it sounds like autosync apps is not for you in any case.

Response by poster: OK, deleted a bunch of apps on the old one, and they're still on the new one. The only thing I can't figure out now is how to move my Notes from the old one to the new one. But everything else has worked out fine. Gonna keep the Amazon account the same for now.
Thanks for all the help!

See here. And here.
Note:
Similarly the kindle will let you sync up to 5 devices (Kindles, Kindle for Mac, etc) The only problem you will have is that it keeps your place between the books. If you don't like her seeing your books, you can create a separate account for her. Otherwise, you can probably share. Save on book purchasing if your tastes are similar.
