Facebook: getting posts from a group into my news feed

I belong to a Facebook group but messages being posted to it are not appearing on my news feed. What needs to be tweaked to enable this? I feel stupid even asking this question but there's something about the way FB works that is just not intuitive for me. The Help Center Faqs on Facebook aren't that helpful.

So it's clear I'm not getting their data model. Aside from the immediate question about getting the group posts to show up in my news feed, is there a resource that describes how Facebook decides what appears in the news feed?

Scroll to the bottom of the feed page, click Edit Options.

Do you mean messages posted by the group itself or messages posted by members of the group? I posted a similar question a little while ago and the answer was that messages posted by group members do not show up in your feed and there's no way to change that.

Messages posted to a facebook group will not automatically show up on your news feed. However if you use Better Facebook, one of the things it does is add a box to the right of the newsfeed that shows group activity so if someone posts something to a group, it will say there is a new post.

If you don't want all of the features of Better Facebook (I personally didn't want the Mark As Read options for my news feed), almost everything can be configured easily in the options page for it including what you want and don't want enabled.
