Montalto Pavese Italy

Looking for information on Montalto Pavese, in an area called 'Oltrepò Pavese'. More specifically, the houses, the typical construction and what type of local stone. Any specs on wall construction, carpentry, etc. Are the local builders/trades still available for stonework and general construction? Less specific, any knowledge of terrain, food, local towns, tourism and the potential for a tourist/guest house/rental.

these flickr groups are relevant:
the tag page has links to local photogs -- as for the trademen, i bet you can find some on , not to mention some accomodations. The oltrepò is basically an area surrounding the town of pavia, which is sure to bring many more google hits..
