Find me a route . . .

Planning / scheduling / dispatch software for a (small) airport taxi company? I'm struggling to find options for the above which aren't much too heavy / costly / over-featured for the size of business.

It's a company running airport transfers from Geneva to a fairly specific sub region of ski resorts in the French Alps.

Bookings are all taken and scheduled in advance (no on the day additions or walk-up clients).

Fleet of 6 minibuses, 2 cars, occasional outside hired coaches run through winter, with 0 - 15 vehicle journeys per day.

Sporadic busy days through the week so driver availability often varying and dependent on non-related jobs.

Summer (8 months of the year) bookings at a much, much lower level hence reticence to invest in an outside hosted, subscription paying solution.

What's needed is really a system to speed up the scheduling and driver / vehicle allocation that's done in advance, with flexibility to re-schedule on the fly as needed due to delays to flights, snow on roads etc. At the moment this is all done manually in Excel after a basic dump and sort of booking data (dates, people, flight times etc.)

Open source would be great. Project management or other general scheduling software that could be adapted for purpose would be just as good as a taxi-specific solution.

Try having a look around Freshmeat. I found this quite quickly.

As for "not too complicated" - try to ignore that requirement. You can filter later.
