European Soccer Bettiing

I want to bet on European soccer. Premiership, Champions League, etc..... can I legally do that from the US? I emailed a UK based betting site and they said "no" as it was a "grey area". Don't want to get busted but want to have a little fun.

Congress outlawed all online betting done by Americans, regardless of the location of the server you place the bet with, IIRC.

But there's no reason you can't call a casino in Vegas or Atlantic City that has a sports book, and make your bets there.

AC doesn't have sportsbooks. And you can't call a Vegas casino from out of state.

It may be possible to find a US-based site that runs a soccer pool for one of the European leagues. It's not exactly straight-up betting, but you might find one that has membership fees and prizes.

If you're just looking to have a little fun, check out censports.com. You essentially bet with fake money, but can cash out for real money at certain points. My coworkers and I all have lots of fun harassing each other for making poor picks in the Asian soccer leagues.
