Short term apartment in Lyon?

Recommendations for a short-term Apartment Rental in Lyon, France?

We'll be in Lyon for about 4 days later this year and would love to have an apartment with a kitchen while we are there so that we can cook.

As usual, Google brings up a glut of apartment rental companies, and I was wondering if anyone had done this and had a recommendation. Or perhaps someone more familiar with Lyon than I could advise.

Thank you!

Best answer: I've never rented a short term apartment there, but I've spent a fair bit of time there.

If I had four days there I'd want to be in Vieux Lyon. It is touristy, but it's pretty, easy to get into town and, if you're there on a Sunday, one of the few places where multiple places are open.

The 1st arrondissement, the Croix Rousse, north of Hotel de Ville is edgy and fun but also very hilly. I like it, but if you've got kids it's possibly less good. If you're looking for a bit boho, this is the place to go. Further down the hill is better, IMHO, although there is a metro line going up the hill.

The 2nd arrondissement is very central. If you're looking for a base, you can get almost anywhere you want from there.

The 6th is a bit more staid, a bit more middle class. It's best feature for tourists is the park.

I wouldn't choose an apartment anywhere else for four days.

Best answer: Two other competitors of airbnb.com
- crashpadder.com
- istopover.com

In the past I've used vrbo.com with great results, and also http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk

Response by poster: Thanks all! I think we are staying near Les Halles since this is mostly a food trip.

Here's a map I made, in case anyone is interested, of the places we plan to visit.
