Geotagging videos?

How can I add location data to videos without breaking compatibility?

My criteria, in descending order of importance, are as follows:
  1. The data should sit inside the video file itself.
  2. The video should play on most existing players - the extra data should be tolerated or ignored by players which don't understand it.
  3. Support for more than one video container
  4. If possible, data should appear in existing players or file managers in a human-readable format. For example, "Position: 57 deg 38' 56.83" N, 10 deg 24' 26.79" E" is good, "58xxxxx10xxxxx" is not as good, "2B84E231" is no good.
  5. Support of changing location as the video is recorded. In other words, the ability to tag 0:00:00 in the video with one location, 0:05:00 with another, etc.
I'm looking for comments on feasibility, existing projects to geotag videos, and perhaps existing standards that do some of the work. I'm also very interested in quick and dirty hacks that do at least 1 and 2.
