Any forthcoming Nick Drake reissues?

Since the Nick Drake compilation Made to Love Magic came out last year, and the Fruit Tree box set is out of print and used copies are selling for exorbitant prices, I couldn't help but wonder if there might be a reissued/remastered CD version of the other albums being planned.

I would like to buy a legal, physical copy (non-iTunes) of the other albums, but since I'm the unlucky type who always buys something just a few months before the fabulous new version comes out, I couldn't help but wonder if a new (remastered?) box set was in the works (it seems like it's about time). I don't know where the in-the-know ND fans get their info, so I thought I would throw it out here and see if anyone here had their ear to the ground.

I haven't heard anything about a new box set. However, I have the Fruit Tree box set, and the bonus disk is alright, thought I hardly listen to it. Ebay has a few that are around $50, which is totally worth it.

Best answer: The versions of Drake's albums released a few years ago by Universal were remastered. Apparently these re-releases were supervised by Joe Boyd which should be a reliable indication that they're a quality item. They sound good to these ears anyway.

His best stuff, IMO, is on the three albums he did when he was alive, and you can still get those on CD.

(I have the Fruit Tree set too and almost never listen to the fourth disc. For that matter I rarely listen to Pink Moon; Bryter Layter and Five Leaves Left are just so very incredibly good.)

I'll second norm - the rarities aren't all that great really. The best tracks from it are already on the Made To Love Magic compilation. You can get hold of the Fruit Tree rarities CD second-hand as Time Of No Reply if you really, really have to have it.

I'll have to disagree with norm about Pink Moon however - it's a black, jagged gem. It's best enjoyed late night and alone with the lights down low.
