I'm in Brooklyn for the next two days. What's there to do this weekend, and what resources can I use to find live music, galleries, or other interesting things?

Celebrate Brooklyn at the bandshell in Prospect Park. A nice evening of music.

The Brooklyn Museum has First Saturdays in which everything is free, they have events, and the museum stays open late (the only time it does...). The link has the schedule of events. It's a cool thing.

Go to a newstand, and pick up a copy of Time Out New York, or you can at least browse their website.

Coney Island is always fun and this is a pretty big weekend as its the July 4th Nathan's Hot-dog eating Contest. Sadly Kobayashi will not be competing.

But if you don't feel like watching outrageous displays of gluttony you can take a ride on the historic Cyclone, or check out all the rides at the newly opened Luna Park, or check out a Brooklyn Cyclones minor-league baseball game (free BBQ set to the first 2500 fans for Saturday's game. BBQ set!), or go to the Circus, or just hang out and get drunk.
