Help me identify this song!

Help me identify a song with little info...I am looking for a campy, cheesy, 80's song with the hook "I want to be an American", or something similar to that. It has some heavy guitar riffs as well. Seriously, it sounds like it came from a Rocky soundtrack. Your help is appreciated!

+1 God Bless The USA: its chorus begins with "I'm proud to be an American."

For some reason your description brings to mind the South Park version of I'm A Little Bit Country (and the second version from later in the episode, which is even more USA F*CK YEAH).

The Hulk Hogan song immediately came to mind for me, too.

I want to live in America by Bobby and the Midnites?
(I was originally thinking of the song by the same title from West Side Story: I want to be in America, but the cheeseball song above popped up in the Youtube results)

This song starts off with the line "We're all living in America," but it's probably not the one you're looking for...

These are all good guesses, but even they are not as cheeseball and awful as the 80s 'classic' by Neil Diamond, "They're Comin' To America." It has heavy guitar riffs and high, cinematic camp – I've heard it at least a dozen times over montages like that one for July 4 stuff. The title is slightly different from what you quote, but the tune itself is exactly what you're describing, complete with spoken-word "My country 'tis of thee" stuff near the end.

Of course, I might be completely wrong, but hey.

Living In America by James Brown? It was actually on the Rocky IV soundtrack.
