Why has "A Song for Bob Crane" by Clem Snide disappeared?

My husband loved this song and played it on youtube and pandora. He purchased it on iTunes before his hard drive died. He asked the Clem Snide facebook group about the song, but no one said anything about it. It was a track on the Autofocus movie soundtrack, but now the sample of the song on the Amazon listing doesn't even play the right track and the CD is unavailable.

Are we going crazy?

I think the CIA is hiding it... it literally nowhere to be found online. I can only find the guitar tab. It is a mystery. Kind of like how did Jesus move the boulder from inside the tomb by himself, (or if he did why was he crucified?) or why did he have so many whores hanging out with him or why did the messiah show up before the internet, foxnews + glenn beck and camera phones?

Seriously though... the song is gone. The track on amazon is some musaK junk...

Wow, that's really bizzare. It's like a memory hole in the internet!

Just http://twitter.com/dtetto/status/17071479020 to @eefbarzelay. He seems active on twitter, but doesn't seem to @reply to fans a lot. We'll see!

"Just tweeted this to..." that is.

Was going to suggest that you see who's been listening on Last.fm. But check out the track detail page (alternate spellings: 1 2)! It has a listener count, but no recent listens, and no users listed as owning the track!

(Compare at another Clem Snide song with listening history and a list of all the users who've listened!)

I remember my college radio station having a 7" with this song on it. Looks like it was put out by The Self-Starter Foundation. This page claims it is available for purchase, but the "buy it" link doesn't work and it's not coming up when I do a search for Clem Snide at Insound. Maybe you could try sending to an email to SSF?

Or...the Auto Focus soundtrack seems to be available used on Amazon.
