Pubs? Parks? Pierogis? What to do in Greenpoint, Brooklyn?

I'm planning on making a day of exploring Greenpoint, Brooklyn next weekend with my fiancee. What should we not miss? Neither of us are too into shows or hipster bars and we're both vegetarians (not vegan). We are, however, into dive bars and both trying to get back into photography. Aside from that, we're open to just about anything.

Bonus question: If we were to make a day of exploring other neighborhoods in Brooklyn, where should we go and what should we do? Neither of us are new to Brooklyn, but are realizing that we haven't explored nearly enough. I have a car, so lack of Subway access is no problem.

The Diamond is a bar that is well loved by people who really love beer.

McGorlick Park is worth walking through.

If you haven't yet, explore Red Hook next.

Yeah, donuts at Peter Pan. Then up the street to Papacitos for some tacos. Or the other way around.

Seconding Grumpy, but also Paulie Gee's and Brouwerij Lane are worth a stop.

Far east Greenpoint (beyond Morgan) and far west-northwest (West street, Greenpoint ave and above) Greenpoint are both really weird and warehousey. There are some great opportunities for strange photographs and moody and interesting walks.
