I guess I'm going to the Jersey Shore?

I'm going to Fort Monmouth, NJ for a work trip next week. What is there to do around there on weeknights for a solo, late-twenties female?

I probably won't be too adventurous, but I would appreciate any recommendations for good restaurants (vegetarian/pescetarian), places to walk, and other points of interest for a lone traveler.

You could hit all the local boardwalks, you're probably less than 30 minutes away from all of them. Keansburg, Seaside Heights, Point Pleasant. Lots of little shore towns near by, too.

Red Bank has a great downtown with lots of restaurants. It is just a few minutes north of the Fort up Route 35.

Red Bank for sure. Spring Lake and Point Pleasant are also fun/beautiful.

Seconding Spring Lake. Esp if you like Victorian architecture. It was originally a summer getaway area for the moneyed classes of New York and Philadelphia, and much of it remains as it was.
