I just hope the question isn't "What is a research test?"

How can I prepare for a "research test" in a job interview?

The interview is for a researcher position at a large financial firm. I will have access to the internet but that's all I know. Has anyone else encountered this type of thing and, if so, what do you wish you'd known beforehand to prepare?

I did two of these in preparation for my current job.

Be familiar with any research tools that are specific to your field or your firm. Have your Internet connection ready and the phone number of your coordinator written down in case the connection goes down (assuming you're doing this remotely). Read through the entire test before you start writing.

I need to do this, but for a different field. I'm able to access their website and see what tools (databases) they have available for use. I make sure I'm familiar with the sites they use. I recommend this if you have that option. If not, part of your research/preparation needs to be knowing which resources you'll have and how to use them.
