Help me remember this song!

The song is called something like Callie's 'Song' (or Kallie, Kylie, Caylie etc.), or possibly Callie's Boat instead of 'Song'. I think it's Irish & it's lovely. It's about a boy who takes his little boat out on the sea - the only refrain I can recall is 'Callie loves the sea'. Thanks!

So I've never heard this, but I wanted to know what you were refering to so I looked around.

Is it possible it was "Waly" not "Callie"? if so perhaps some version of: The Water is Wide?

Is it The Skye boat song?

The refrain is nothing like what you mentioned though (and it is Scottish).

Best answer: "Kali Loves the Sea" seems to be a choral piece (see here and here), so at the very least you have not hallucinated this song. I'll keep looking around.

Response by poster: Thank you so much, MonkeyToes! That's IT! I heard it performed once & just loved it, I'd love to have a recording of it - but no luck on iTunes, tho. Thanks again.
