Can you identify this creature? Each wing was approximately 2-3" long. Found in central New Jersey, USA. Thanks!

Looks like a polyphemus moth.

Definitely a silk moth (Family Saturniidae) from Subfamily Saturniinae.
Probably Callosamia promethea.
