What kind of hat is this?
I having been looking for some hats to wear occasionally. I came across this Hat. I have a small head and this particular hat is too large. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what kind of style it is and if any companies make similar styles.

Response by poster: I meant the style, there all different types of stetsons.

It looks to be the Whippet, which you can get right on Stetson's website.

It appears to me to be modern variation on a Homberg hat.
Also known as the Anthony Eden hat.

The Whippet seems to fall squarely in the fedora family - the hat in the original post looks like it has a flat brim that's rolled all the way around. The brim reminds me of Daniel Plainview's hat in There Will Be Blood, although the crown is different. This thread on thefedoralounge.com discusses that hat fairly extensively and has some links that might be helpful.. and those folks might also be able to positively identify the original one.
(If you do find out somewhere else, I hope you'll follow up here - that's a neat hat!)

Response by poster: Huh, I am not sure if it is the Homberg. I was kind of looking for something more casual.

Stetson calls that colour "mushroom" or perhaps "natural", depending how accurate the lighting is in that picture, and the felt is 3x Beaver. The brim appears to be larger than 2" but smaller than 3", so youcancallmeal's Whippet is probably the right brim size. If you are looking for that identical hat, arm yourself with this information and your googlizing will be easier.
If it's a vintage hat, you won't necessarily be able to find the exact same one. This one is pretty similar, the Roadmaster. Don't let the shape of the crown confuse you -- if the hat is new, you can choose your own shape when you have it blocked.
If you can take the singleminded hatfocus of the Fedora Lounge (sorry metafilter) you might find some help.

Homburg is spelled with a "u" - here's the description from Wikipedia. I don't think this hat fits the description.
Know who's good at "what hat is this?" Languagehat.
Someone should really make a key guide to hat styles.

Best answer: Thanks everyone for trying to help! I actually posted on Fedora Lounge after the site was posted here and they identified it as the Stetson Derringer.
